Now that people have gotten used to using their Rocky Talkies, a mingle for offworlders to connect with one another will appear. While unknown who initiated the spell, it doesn't seem... completely fine-tuned yet.

Either way, it's not a bad idea to try and break the ice amongst fellow displaced individuals here in Town. Who knows! You might end up making unexpected friends.

Or enemies. People will be 'prompted' before commenting on this mingle with a notification that reads...

For this mingle, the glitching seems to be causing an admission of what characters are most annoyed be. Whether a simple, small pet peeve or something more intense... Let it off your chest! The Fae do want to get you started.

While people can work around this spell in creative ways, the point seems to be trying to help people to get to know each other! There are so many things you could be annoyed about, after all!

Some people might have a profile posted without their knowledge. Others might find what they actually entered for their profile is different than what is posted on the public network. Obviously, some magical interference or shoddy spellmanship - some might suspect is now The Fae due to their love of pranks - is happening since trying to edit it too will see it revert back to what it was before!

For this mingle, the glitching seems to be causing a confession of what characters a most grateful for. In light of recent tragic events, perhaps the Fae are trying in their own way to remind people what's good in their life.

[A brief flourish of a violin signals the so-called maiden broadcast of the Lovelines and Leylines "radio" segment where listeners are encouraged to submit their own questions and stories about life and love's trials to be answered or shared in subsequent episodes.]

Greetings, friends, and congratulations on your decision to join us for the maiden broadcast of our "Lovelines and Leylines" radio segment. I am Emet-Selch, formerly known as Mackenzie R. Ingles, and today we shall address several listener submissions and end our time together with a poem and a few choice platitudes for you to ponder as you go about your merry way.

Our submission box remains open indefinitely, as do guest requests. So! If you've anything at all to share, or desire a chance to speak of your own experiences, feel free to do so through the appropriate channels.

[It's probably unlikely that anyone else is really tuned into their Rocky Talky during the festival, but that's fine. If they are, they'll be able to hear a slightly more subdued chatter coming from it - people trying to put at least a little bit of respect on the Architect Saint's name.]

You really never have a choice in what you'll get remembered for when you're gone, huh?

At the memorial for Akkelion. I was always going to head over here, just hearing about it from the locals, but Voridin has been pretty interested in it all. Listening to everyone out, and it's clear he was real famous for his architecture.

But if you could listen to Voridin... What he remembers most about him might be something that I don't see a single reference to around here. That he was an opera singer. A really good opera singer. That, or I have a really big fan stuck in my head. Both, probably.

Same for the guy I heard about back in Vorrun, Rovaan Nah. Known for battle, but apparently he snuck Charlie pieces of candy.

Everyone remembers the great glories, or the terrible tragedies... And it washes away everything besides that.

Anyway, thought it was interesting to hear about from Voridin, and maybe it'll ring someone else's bell where they're taking up space in our skulls. [The sound of movement, and a low nondescript noise that's probably Angeal stretching.] If anyone doesn't have any better ideas on what to do tonight before we all get dragged up into that fancy party, I'll be over at that tavern for a while.

Greetings and salutations, friends.

I do hope you all have managed to keep yourselves cool and refreshed amidst the scorching heat. Can't have you shriveling up like a bunch of overcooked popoto crisps, now, can we?

Although I've more professional matters to discuss, I thought I might begin by teasing my latest project, which is something of a collaborative and interactive affair.

We all have come to enjoy the Mingles, of course, so I thought why not try something voluntary and anonymous? Helpful, even.

You see, as of late the demand for advice on matters of life, love, and...lust have risen exponentially (this is, of course, purely based on the recommendation of my publisher), and thus have I been forcefully coerced into hosting mine own "radio segment" styled broadcast, providing wisdom and answers to listener-submitted correspondence.

If the show becomes popular, we also hope to bring on guests to share their insights into these and many other relevant and universal matters.

Thus has our submissions box been opened. Send in a letter if you like, for yourself or for a fictional someone - it matters not. Feel free to take as many creative liberties as you wish, but do remember to alter any names in consideration for the privacy of others.

Oh, yes. The maiden broadcast of "Lovelines and Leylines" will be coming up this Friday evening. You won't want to miss it.

Some of you might know but for those that don't...
It's one of my favorite holidays!

Tanabata is the 7th day of the 7th moon of the year!
And why is it special?
Well...

On Tanabata and during July, people write wishes on small pieces of colored paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo trees.

I got some bamboo shoots in Vorrun and with Demora's help they've already grown pretty tall around the inn! It's open to anyone and we would be happy for people to come by!

Towering windows with stained glass line its surfaces, and golden accents are artfully placed in vaguely geometric patterns. The entire structure is Art Deco in design. After a few moments to allow the image of part of the building to be observed, the Emissary begins speaking.]

Hello and well met, fellow residents. For those who had noticed this newest addition in the area - or for those who had not - I have taken upon myself to offer an explanation. This building is known as Akadaemia Anyder, a place of learning and research of my people. It contains dedicated wings for each member of the Convocation depending on their specialization, as well as rooms and libraries for study.

[He beams brightly and nods at the camera.]

It has been brought here through the efforts of Emet-Selch, Lahabrea, and myself to benefit us all. Each of the Words should be present in its entirety, but I would caution any against venturing inside for the time being. We will be devising ways to ensure none of the concepts inside are active and aggressive in order to ensure the safety of those wishing to learn.

[ Charlie appears on screen, a serious expression on his face. Not quite grim, but certainly not happy. ]

In the interest of transparency, I wanted to share with everyone a concerning turn of events. I do not mean to scare anyone, but I do want to make everyone aware so that we can be on the lookout for anything else like it.

One of the artifacts recovered from Vorrun, a silver spear, was revealed after examination, to be a phylactery.

For those unfamiliar, phylacteries are often associated with the presence of a lich. They are created as a kind of back up containing a fragment of their soul, if a lich is destroyed or defeated, the phylactery is used as a revival point for that individual so that they may recover and continue on. A lich is an undead being, existing out of force of will. To become a lich, one must be a powerful magic user and have spent a great deal of time and cruelty to make the transformation. Often this involves the murder and sacrifice of innocents on a massive scale...

This obviously, is a dangerous item and has been handed over to a powerful wizard who serves in the council of New Svihelen. He will be taking it to an isolated area for monitoring, containment and testing.

We are currently unsure of who the phylactery belongs to, as we have not been aware of the presence of a lich at all in recent centuries. The hope is that this item is somehow defunct or broken as it appears not to have been used as of yet.

I will of course appraise you all of any developments. Please try not to trouble yourselves however as the artifact is in good hands and fully bound to prevent it from fulfilling it's function, should anything even attempt.

[ Like a typical old man, texting this information isn't his first thought. Everyone gets a video once more from the resident nuisance Ardyn. His hair is down - wisping far past his shoulders by now - but he's wearing a sunhat with a black band to shield himself from the light of day. ]

So, as it turns out- People aren't the only things capable of making the trip through the summoning circle. [ A shadow looms over him briefly, a small kweh? sounding, and then a large black beak is descending from overhead to bunt against his rock curiously. It obscures the camera view for a moment before he's extending one arm and reaching back his other hand to gently pat and rub that aforementioned beak.

With a bit more space, the entire head of a black chocobo comes into view. It appears to be resting its head on his shoulder now from behind him and peering at the inanimate object he's speaking into. ]

I'm not sure how, mind you, but nevertheless: it appears my old friend Dolores here decided to join our little community. [ At the mention of her name, the bird chirps happily and nudges Ardyn's cheek. ] As you can see, she's quite friendly. Smart, too.

You'll probably see her and me around Town regularly so don't be shy and say hello if you'd like. She also loves attention, just like her owner. [ And speaking of, apparently the Rocky Talky is getting too much of Ardyn's attention currently. Dolores reaches forward to peck at it and knock it out of his hands. The man gives a small, surprised noise before laughing lightly. The video cuts off there (a brief 'Dolores, darling, please behave-' heard potentially) though he'll answer any following calls. ]

[During this odd spring, Nephenee, like many has experienced a few sensations that are a little odd. One is this deep warmth and energy she can't put a finger on. The second is a need to cuddle or touch others at points. She's not sure if it's just because she's been without her family for so long or what, but given she's heard rumours that others might be experiencing it too, she goes on the comms.]

Hey, y'all. Nephenee here. Dunno what's goin on, but it sounds like a few of us are needing hugs or somethin? Maybe it's just cabin fever, but I wanted to offer to help folks that need it there. If my siblings are to believed, I give good ones.

Oh, I heard some folks are getting itchy horns and scales, either after their transformation is complete or during the change. I've got some herbal ointments that helped me out a ton, maybe they'll help others out too.

Also, I wanted to see if folks wanna race and train and stuff! Spring's a good time for that sorta thing, don't ya think?

[ After positioning her Rocky Talky accordingly, the video starts to film Rosie in front of a vine-covered wood and stone building. It has tables out front that are also decorated with various plants and ale pitchers. The windows of the establishment are opened to show the floral, decorated inside as well.

Despite the cold, everything seems to be thriving... which can be attributed to the gifts over nature that Demora has lent her now that their bond is stronger. It definitely stands out amongst the light dusting of snow yet to melt. So does Rosie, with only minimal draconic features to be seen, and in a thematic dress that's less modest than before now that she can show some skin again without being as self-conscious. Flowers are also wound in a braid crowning her head as she smiles brightly and waves. ]

Hey, everyone! After being here a bit and getting some influence, I decided to open up my own business! Town isn't really, like, a place to be but there have been more tourists and visitors now that we're getting known. We all get homes, sure, but traveling merchants and stuff don't. So, I figured: Why not open somewhere people can relax, drink, and stay the night if they want?

Say hello to 'All The Way Inn!' [ Just look at that cheeky grin as she moves to reveal the sign of the establishment that reads the same in a fancy, bold font. She knows exactly what she's done here, thanks. ]

... and tavern, if we're getting technical. Serving mead, teas, floral-themed foods, and offering pretty decent rates to stay for a bit if people want! I might need some help, if anyone's looking for a job, but right now it's just me running things.

[ Here's a face some of you might have seen before this chaos kept everyone inside. He's a teenager with a severe case of Grouchy Face, and apparently still toward the beginning of his transformation. His face is mostly human, but there are the beginnings of white horns peeking out of his hair and a few scattered scales on the sides of his neck. And his hair, once pure dark brown, has started to grow in silver at the roots. ]

If we haven't met, I'm Kaiba. I live with my partner Ryou.

I know most of you are further along into becoming dragons than we are, so the safest thing for us is to stay inside during this nightmare. But I'm slowly losing my mind here, so if I can help speed along the effort and regain our freedom before our weird dragon puberty finishes, that'd be great.

So I'm offering to trade my services as an inventor and smith in training. I worked at a weapons manufacturing company a few years back, and I can absolutely rig some small explosives with access to more scrap. It's just getting to the supply that's the issue.

But if that doesn't pan out, how much longer until I can claw them apart?

While I do so hate to be the bearer of disappointing news, I thought it prudent to mention, for the sake of those who knew him, that Hythlodaeus - like some few of us before - has vanished from Kamurkia and (presumably) from this realm entirely.

Far be it for me to speak on his behalf, but if he were here to offer his farewells, I'm certain he would have said that he was truly blessed for your presence and your friendship, and that he prays you will meet again - if not in this life, then mayhap within another.

Should anyone require that loose threads be tied, you may take up your grievances with me.

That is all.

[And as for Emet-Selch? He can be found in one of the restaurants in Hast, not so far from the harbor. He has managed to wrestle their piano (a simple, upright number) away from the establishment's scheduled entertainment, and has taken to waging war with the keys. He'll be just fine, of course. He will endure. Even so, the circles beneath his eyes suggest he hasn't slept in a while.]

[ Ardyn has positioned his stone tablet like one would as a 'content creator' of modern times. He may not be particularly tech-savvy on his own, but he stole enough memories to know how it should work.

He's outside in the low light of dusk but framed in a way that leaves a large open space to his right. He holds a book in his left hand - one on conjuration, the keen-eyed will be able to see - and extends out his right (large, clawed) hand almost idly.

He's wearing reading glasses and his hair is tied back, which is a different sort of look than most are used to. Not to mention the draconic features of all that extra fuzz, satyr-esque curved legs, large wings folded in behind him, and fat tail barely touching the ground. His hair is up though mostly to stop it from getting tangled up on his now large, curved horns... and because, at some point, the sun stopped burning as bad as it used to.

Good evening, fellow offworlders! At the suggestion of some, I decided to pick up some of the local literature Charlie had available in his library. Specifically, the art of conjuration appealed to me and, as it turns out, it's not so difficult to learn the basics.

[ He gives a small, thoughtful hum before snapping the fingers of his right hand. Where once was empty space, there now stands a daemon. ] The spell 'find familiar' allows me to conjure some very familiar friends of mine from home! Of course, for those who they are also familiar- You don't have to worry! They're not able to replicate, spread, or any of that here. They'll dissipate just like a regular familiar summon would ere long or if they're put down.

They also obey their summoner's commands. Well, if they're summoned correctly. As with anything, there is room for error. [ He gives the imp a small, affectionate pat on the head as it flutters up to drape over his shoulder with claws lightly gripping against his shirt. ]

However, familiars - and conjuration spells in general - are quite useful. To put my newfound knowledge to good use, I'm offering classes for those who wish to learn. Do let me know if you're interested! I'll also need some volunteers to keep things safe in case any summonings don't go as planned. [ And no one, especially not the dragon in his head, can say he isn't doing his due diligence then to keep people safe. ]

[ Gaia's voice remains steady. She's prepared herself, written down a message and practiced a bit so her voice wouldn't break or stammer to find the right words. Yet her tone emphasizes the underlying seriousness of her message. ...And the dismay. The sadness of loss. ]

I've no easy way to say this and I'm not one to mince words. Sephiroth... the younger one, disappeared during the snow storm near the beginning of the month.

When it was obvious he wasn't just spending time to himself and there'd been no signs of following his usual routine, I went to speak with Charlie to see if there was a way to find him.

[ She had tried messages, tracking on her own, even searching. But it had turned up nothing. ]

Charlie... was able to determine he'd left. I mean to say, he's disappeared from this world. The last trace of him was at the summoning circle we all first appeared at.

[ Gaia stops here and takes a deep breath. ]

Well... that's it, mostly. It seems it's possible to end up being returned or to leave this world. I apologize that I didn't reach out to anyone when I first couldn't find Sephiroth. But... I know he would have been unhappy if it'd turned out I'd worried people.

[Throughout the offworlders' time here, there's been a lovely young woman that has been...well, around, but not exactly getting out there, or being social. Clad in blue and silver metal armour over teal leather that inexplicably shows a lot of leg, until the past month or so, she's always worn a helmet over her emerald hair that obscures her face somewhat. That's changed as the ones there since the first call have had their horns come in; now, she's mostly seen under a deep blue cloak with the hood constantly up. She's been quiet for the most part, but has tried to help out, and usually can be found trying to help the townsfolk with chores and such. Chopping wood, hauling, guarding...anything where her strengths come into play and she doesn't have to talk much.

Well, at least, not talking much out loud. Her dragon has been keeping the lion's share of her attention when it comes to talking, and Yune help her, this dragon is persistent, a chatterbox, and an extrovert. And slowly, the constant bashing against the Sentinel's gigantic wall of reserve has finally smashed a hole through it. It's not a big one, but any hole in the defensive wall is still a possible ingress for invasion, and the silver dragon Persvek Janklee has made sure to press the advantage while she can!

So, it seems quite out of nowhere that the post from an odd username ‘SilveredLance’ comes forth on the network. If it’s been seen before, it’s been rare enough most won’t recognize it, but the few that have gotten to know Nephenee a little can probably hazard a guess who it is before she shows up on the video. When it goes live, it shows a tall, fair and feminine figure sitting at a table in armour, covered in the dark blue cloak that's been more common lately. The hood doesn't cover as much now that her horns have come in, so everyone can see she has emerald hair and eyes both, some light freckles on her cheeks, and a lot of silver scales.

She smiles a bit uneasily, rubbing the back of her neck - Persvek and Calill both said she'd be a lot cuter if she smiled, right? And frankly, the more she can do to get the dragon metaphorically - and literally - off her back, the better.

When she speaks, it's a soft, pleasant, warm voice that brings to mind country fields and warm apple pie...or it might, if she didn't stutter so.]

H-Hi, everyone. Um, been 'round here for awhile, like most o'us, an' sorry for not usin' this here thing 'fore now, but...never got the hang o'this device 'til recently. We ain't got nothin' like it back home.

[Her eyes dart away as she says it, but she looks back to the camera after a moment.]

A-Anyhow, my name's Nephenee. Ah'm a farmer an' fighter from Crimea, on Tellius...Ah work as a guard for Her Majesty Queen Elincia as a Sentinel, an' fought in some wars under her... [She looks to the side for a moment, as if listening to someone...] No, Ah ain't sayin' that 'bout Sentinels...'right, fine. [Emerald eyes dart back, her cheeks flushing pink as she sighs.] Sorry, my dragon's...nosy an' noisy. She's a Silver dragon, an'...well, Ah can't say her name real good, so Ah'll jus' write it out for y'all.

[She quickly does so, before holding up a piece of paper that reads "Persvek Janklee".]

Ah jus' call her "Persi", though. She ain't like any dragons we got back home. All the Dragon Laguz Ah know are...well, don't know that many, but they sure ain't as...talkative, that's for sure. But...she kinda pushed me to talk to people more, e'en if Ah ain't great at it, so...here Ah am. Um, what's all y'all's names? Where y'all from? Does anyone hail from somewhere like this? An'...we got a lotta other fighters here? Or folks from the country side, or that like to cook an' stuff?

[Nephenee grimaces slightly as she clearly listens to the dragon in her head, and sighs.]

Persi also wants me to ask e'eryone's favorite flavors for sweets. She says it's important. An' hobbies, an' all that. Ah ain't gonna ask e'rythin' she is right now, though - Think my voice'd give out 'fore Ah got done.

Anyway, that's...all Ah got for now. Hope Ah can get to know some folks...

[Oh! A thought occurs, as her eyes seem to brighten and she punches the palm of one hand.]

Ah, right. Does anyone need clothes or anythin' for winter? Seems to be gettin' mighty chilly for most folks...though Ah've always been good with it. Think Ah'm gettin' e'en better, what with the whole Silver Draon thin'. But...Ah'd like to help folks out, if Ah can. Ah know some dragons we're bonded with ain't fans o'the cold, 'specially. [She knows that from poor 'Ivan' at the very least.] So, um, lemme know, alright? Ah can make some warm stuff for folks like this cloak, or shirts an' stuff.

[OOC: Since this is D&D-based, If you want to read into anything she says or whatever, feel free to have your character try! Just throw the applicable roll in the comment title or whatever. (She's very easy to read currently.)]

[ Popp's coping mechanism for missing people is to go all in on honoring their legacy. He's hard to find for a few days, unless someone decides to check out the blasts and explosions echoing out from the hills... which they might. He's pretty open about his plans when asked. This ain't about that, though, this is about the results:

There's a rough cavern blasted into the side of a hill, with a shallow pit blasted into the floor of that, forming a semi-shaded pool at the time of day it is right now, which is noon. The full hill situation isn't visible from stoneview, which is from above. The pool is full of steaming hot water, and - the image shakes for a moment, there's a yelp and a splash, and then it also contains Popp. He looks exhausted but incredibly smug as he floats around on his back. ]

Hey, check it out, one unnatural hot spring! It'll cool off eventually, but anyone with fire breath or heat magic can fix that. It's great if you need a hot soak big enough to stretch your wings out in.

[ It's a little embarrassing to be broadcasting to all and sundry down to his shorts and covered in weird scaly patches, but whatever, enough people here are self conscious about looking like total freaks, he's setting a good example. At least he doesn't have actual acne. ]

Just clean off before you jump in and soak, nobody likes used bathwater. I'll maintain it and heat it up with a Sizzle now and then while I'm around, but I'm a mage, not an innkeeper, bring your own towels.

[ Ahh yes, it's Byleth again. He appears to be doing a bit better now. He's standing behind the counter of one of the empty shop fronts in Town. A large variety of pots are lined up behind him. He's bundled in comfortably warm clothes, and with a completely flat expression, he makes a wide gesture to the pots. ]
